PAN-INDIA MNP | Nationwide Inter Circle MNP(Mobile Number Portability) effective from May 3, 2015

New Delhi: Nationwide Inter circle MNP (Mobile Number Portability), one of the much awaited service in India is finally set to begin from May 3rd, 2015.

The Telecom Regularity Authority of India (TRAI) said today that it has "...issued sixth amendment to the Telecommunication Mobile Number Portability Regulation , 2009, which will facilate full Mobile Number Portability (MNP) in the country, with effect from May 3, 2015." The Department of Telecom had on November 3, 2014 issued amendments to MNP licence agreement starting that MNP is to be implemented across the country within a period of six months from the date of amendments of the licence.

An existing MNP Service allows you to change your mobile operator by retaining the same mobile number within a Home Circle i.e. it is restricted to your home state.

But with the begining of Inter Circle MNP from May 3, 2015, you can switch your mobile operator across the country.

Suppose you're staying in Hyderabad (Telangana State) with mobile number +91 94943xx123 using BSNL operator and now you have shifted to Chennai (Tamilnadu State), through Inter Circle MNP you can retain your existing mobile number i.e. +91 94943xx123 with liberty to choose any operator of your choice.

Steps to complete MNP Service:

For availing MNP service, first you need to obtain a UPC(Unique Porting Code) by sending sms to 1900. SMS to be sent: PORT <10 digit mobile number> to 1900

After sending SMS to 1900, you will receive UPC (Unique Porting Code) as a SMS from 1901 giving 8 digit alpha-numeric UPC and UPC expiry date in MM/DD/YYYY format. Note that validity of a UPC is only 15 days so you need to register the UPC before it gets expire.

Visit the nearest Operator center in which you want to PORT IN.

Fill the Form, submit all the required document and obtain your new operator SIM (Subscriber Identity Module).

The new operator will send an SMS on your old/existing operator's SIM(existing connection) intimating about the porting date and time, i.e. the date and approximate time till when you can continue to use your existing operator's SIM card.

There will be be 'no service period' which will begin after the porting time as given above. The "No Service Period" will be between 12 midnight to 5 am during which your mobile service will not be active on any SIM.

After the "No Service Period", you can replace your existing operator's SIM card with new operator SIM card in your handset.

After replacing you should see the new operator network in your handset. Now make a call to Customer Care for tele-verification and activating your connection.

You must now enjoy using new operator.

Whatsapp on Desktop PC (Official)

Whatsapp now on windows (official). Yes you heard it right!

After the wechat which took the lead in announcing its web version for its instant messaging chat service; facebook following the same to rise a competition in international market and now it has officially announced the web version of its IM chat service. As of now (before the release of web client) users are accessing the whatsapp (or any other android application) through a desktop client called Bluestacks which is not as smooth as it should be. But after the official web version of whatsapp user will be able to chat from desktop with ease & comfort.

How to access whatsapp on web:

open this URL on chrome browser as https://web.whatsapp.com you'll get the following screeen on your desktop PC.

Now open your whatsapp application on your mobile and select "whatapp web" on the chats option menu

Now scan the QR code with your phone to log in

Note:

For now (till writing this article) whatsapp can only be accessed from Google Chrome only.
To activate whatsapp web, your phone must be connected to Internet or WiFi because it only works in sync with your phone.
You need to have a latest version of whatsapp to be able to use the features of whatsapp web.

Restriction

Unfortunately, whatapp web client will not be available to iOS users due to Apple platform limitation.

Windows 8 WiFi Problem Solved!

So far we've heard a lot about Microsoft's new operating system Windows 8 such as New Look, Windows Store, fast start up and much more. But that's the same operating system which has caused a headache for many users. Some of the headache are WiFi & Bluetooth which get inoperative. OK Fine, let's know how to get rid of this headache.

The Very First thing when we upgrade to windows 8 through Windows Upgrade assistance it checks the different programs for program compatibility issue and uninstall the program if it is incompatible.

If you have installed windows 8 drivers from your PC manufacturer website, I would recommend to uninstall the Power Management driver (only) for windows 8 and install the windows 7 Energy (Power) Management driver. Though there is a 100% chance of Program Compatibility issue which you can ignore.

Let me tell you Hackers and Network professionals uses Firefox. Even if you work with Linux BackTrack (which is an operating system used by Network professionals) you will find firefox as default browser. This post is based on using One Master Password for all web login in Mozilla Firefox.

So how can you Save all your login Username and password with just One password without any need of additional software. Here is the steps to follow:

Step 1:

Open Mozilla Firefox web browser. Click on the top-left corner of the browser (written as Firefox).

Step 2:

Go to Option and again option, a window will open as shown here. Check the "Use a master password" box. After checking in this box you will be prompted to create a Master password in step 3.

Step 3:

In this screen, create your master password and press OK.

After this step following screen must pop up instructing for change of Master Password.

Note: To save your username and password you must click on "Remember password" after you login. This is mandatory. And the next time when you log you will be prompted to enter Master Password.

Do make sure that you don't lose access to your master password. If however you forget that then there is no way to recover your master password and the usernames/passwords associated with it will not be accessible.

Sometimes we are in such a hurry that we don't focus on the performance of our system. Like we eject the device directly without clicking on the Safely Remove Hardware notification icon (which may cause performance issue). This Post will let you know how we should eject the device safely without using Safely Remove Notification icon and also how we can have better performance.

For this purpose we have to open a Program "Device Manager" for performing the required task. There are different ways through which a device manager can be opened but the easiest way is being reported here.
